Tennis Bash at Irvington

I got a call from Adidas to come and help them with the event that they hosted at Irvington Club. It was an event during which kids got a chance to play some tennis against the pros, get their serve clocked with the radar gun, and play tennis on Nintendo Wii. During this event, lots of Adidas gifts were given to the kids who could show decent tennis skills. The Bryan brothers stopped by, Mardy Fish and Mikhail Yuzhny. Obviously, all of them wear Adidas and are in town for the Davis Cup. Bryans played some doubles, Mikhail and Mardy hit a few balls from the back. Then , they played a few points against the kids. There were also Davis Cup tickets giveaway. But, I wasnt lucky with that. I still dont have them and hope that something is gonna come up. I think it will be a cool event with lots of people.

Vancouver, BC

I ended up flying to Vancouver, BC instead of going home to Portland. My brother picked me up at the airport. The next day I spent playing with my nieces.
One of them is 5 and a half and I went to play a little tennis with her in the park. I fed her some balls and she was able to hit them over the net.

Last week I was playing a tournament in Puebla, Mexico. It was the last pro tournament for me in 2007. It was also the last tournament for many other players in the tournament and after losing early, some were pullig out of doubles and going home. There were also a lot players getting sick with food poisoning and not showing up for the match. In the first round, I played against another player who also got sick and could only last one full set. In the second round, I played Leonardo Mayer (I played him here last year in the quarterfinals). I lost to him again.
I packed that evening and left home in the early morning. Now, Im going to take a break from tennis, try to catch the Davis Cup final in Portland, Oregon.
